It is with a very sad heart we say good bye to our friend Darrel Brown, who passed last week after suffering an extended illness.
Darrell was a beloved participant at both AANR-NW and AANR meetings. He is a member of the AANR-NW Hall of Fame and was an AANR-NW Man of the Year. As well as serving as the AANR Finance Chair, he served as both the AANR-NW Treasurer and AANR-NW Finance Chair for many years.
Darrel’s wife, Pat, is a past president of AANR. Our thoughts are with her.
Darrel will be missed.
AANR-NW adopted Rooster Rock State Park through the Oregon State Park Adopt-A-Park program. AANR-NW invites you to participate in this family tree planting event. This is a clothing required event as the Columbia River is too high to work at the nude beach. We will be planting trees in the textile portion of the park.
Usually the weather at this event has us appreciating clothing! Volunteers are not charged park entrance fees. Simply follow the signs once entering the park.

Lava Nursery, located in Parkdale, Oregon, generously continued their donation of 400 tree seedlings. We value their contribution and solicit your help to get them planted. We work in partnership with Oregon State Park staff, Sierra Club members, Scouts, SOLV IT, and local community members.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing to this rain or shine event. Park tools are limited. We have been asked to bring garden planting tools, 5 gallon bucket, gloves, and drinking water. However, no tools or experience are required. Work an hour or the entire allotted time.
