Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
AANR Story Airs on Canadian Business Channel

Within Carolyn Hawkins’ report, you will find a link to some excellent
coverage that nude recreation and AANR clubs received from a business network in Canada.  Bare Oaks, Bare Necessities, and Mira Vista were mentioned.  What’s more, the reporter appearing on the program pulled out and showed each and every item from our Nakation in a Box, including a  plush red towel reading, “I’m on Nakation.”

The coverage for this program placed nude recreation in very good company. Just prior to our segment, an extensive interview with the Chief Financial Officer of Corning Glass took place.  You can catch the Nakation segment at about the 3:43 mark.

I would like to specifically commend Carolyn Hawkins, Terry Justice, and Frank Bokun from our office for their work in coordinating the mailing of the Nakation Box to get it in the right hands, and for providing many of the facts and figures quoted in the segment.  Much of this was handled as Carolyn was also handling the Assateague Beach cleanup project last week!

New Staff Announcements

Next week, Nanette Wickersham from our membership department will begin a new position as my Executive Assistant.  Among her first projects, Nan will be handling many of the office’s logistics for the AANR World Record Skinny-Dip.  She will also play a significant role in helping us prepare for convention at Oaklake Trails.

Arlette Lowery will take Nan’s place in membership, and we are delighted to have her on our team.  Arlette first began enjoying nude recreation in her native country of Belgium.  When she came stateside, she and her family started visiting Rock Haven Lodge in Tennessee.  Upon moving to the Kissimmee area, she has regularly visited Cypress Cove.

Arlette has considerable experience in membership services.  Prior to
joining us she worked for a number of years in Universal Studios Orlando’s annual membership department.  You know Arlette’s daughter Kimberly, who is a long-time member of our staff.

Welcome Arlette, and congratulations, Nan!

The AANR World Skinny-Dip Gathers Even More Momentum

An all-new Web page on the AANR Web site made its debut this morning.  It will provide updates and emerging details of the skinny-dip record project. You can visit the page by clicking here: aanr.com/skinny-dip.html.

Credible Voices Making a Difference

On Monday, we received a communication from an East Coast law firm seeking our assistance with locating an expert witness to testify in a trial involving family nude recreation.  Both a husband and wife who are not (YET) members were arrested and face charges after authorities learned that they regularly used their private backyard hot tub nude along with their teenaged children. While NO sexual activity is alleged to have taken place, county prosecutors have filed an information alleging that the pattern and practice of regularly hot tubbing nude together was tantamount to an offense.

AANR regularly assists in cases where dangerous precedents could be
established from an unfavorable outcome.  Member/Club Liaison Terry Justice and I have placed the attorneys representing the couple in touch with a credible expert from a nearby club, as well as forwarding a package of cases and other resources.

Linda Berry, Director of Publications
Thank You, ANRL

The American Nudist Research Library (ANRL), located on the grounds of Cypress Cove Nudist & Resort and Spa in Kissimmee, Florida, houses an incredible amount of nudist history. Every year, the library takes all 12 issues of The Bulletin, has them hardbound into one handy reference manual, and presents it to AANR as a gift.  One volume is also made for the library. The hardbound volumes go all the way back to 1951. AANR and The Bulletin are sincerely appreciative of this gift. We hope that all AANR members will continue to support the library with time, talent, and treasures. For more information about the library, visit http://www.anrl.org/.

E-Bulletin

AANR’s bi-weekly online publication now reaches 13,051 subscribers. It’s a great way to introduce your friends to nude recreation, plus it’s FREE. Sign up at  http://www.aanr.com/ .

New Brochure

The “What Does AANR Do For You” brochure has been replaced with a modernized version, thanks to the help of Pat Brown’s committee. The new brochure is titled, “Why Your AANR Membership Matters.” It is at the printer now and should be arriving in our office late next week. You’ll definitely want a supply for your next trade show or membership appreciation event at your club.

Busy, Busy Week

The publications department has been busy this week on everything but The Bulletin. In addition to completing the new brochure mentioned above, The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip Guide and Participation Forms for the clubs have been finalized. An advertisement has been designed and submitted to the SunDial, the Haulover Beach publication. Another advertisement is being designed for the local newspaper’s summer lifestyles edition.
