Cougar Valley State Park Update
Cougar Valley State Park Update
Submitted by: Shirley Gauthier- AANR-NW GAT Chair
Thank you to everyone who responded to the AANR-NW Government Affairs Team (AANR-NW GAT) post concerning a potential clothing optional area at Cougar Valley State Park. That posting generated more emails to me than any other post in the history of the AANR-NW eNews! It is exciting to have so many nudists responding to the possibility of an additional new clothing optiona= l area in Oregon.
The posting generated a few questions I thought would be best answered via the AANR- NW eNews rather than individually as others 05 share the same questions.
1. Is AANR-NW GAT soliciting financial contributions for Cougar Valley Park work? No, we are not soliciting funds at this time. AANR-NW dues paying members financially support the GAT program. We never turn down checks in support of GAT but we are not specifically asking for Cougar Valley Park funds at this time. If you are not a member of AANR and want t= o support this project please consider joining AANR by going to www.aanr.com <http://www.aanr.com/> .=20
2. Should I make phone calls in addition to writing a letter? No. We are asking that you write letters, so that they will become part of the public record. The last thing we want to do is contribute to the State Par= k Planners work by taking up his valuable work-day answering phone calls. = =20
3. Do you have to be member of AANR-NW to subscribe to the eNews? No, you do not have to be a member of AANR. Simply have your friends email eNews@xprt.net and ask to be added to the subscriber list.=20
4. How I can I help? If you belong to a club/resort ask your newsletter editor to include the eNews post soliciting letters in your next newsletter issue. That post can be found at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/AANR-NW-eNews/=20
5. Can you contact me for any additional help you might need? Please stay tuned to the eNews for any additional calls for support or help.=20=20 =20
AANR- NW GAT is requesting that you write a simple and short letter. Simpl= y state that you are interested in Cougar Valley State Park including a clothing-optional area and that you would like to be added to the Cougar Valley State Park informational mailing list. AANR-NW has a long history o= f working with the Oregon State Parks Department. If you are an AANR member please consider identifying yourself as a member. If you are not a member you might mention that you value AANR=92s long history of beach work events and Oregon State Park adoption at Rooster Rock State Park. We ask that you do so via snail mail so that your letter becomes part of the official publi= c record. Address your letter to Oregon State Parks Planner, Ron Campbell, 725 Summer Street NE-Suite C, Salem, OR 97301. Please include your name an= d address so that your letter becomes part of the formal public record.
I appreciate all the emails thanking the AANR-NW Government Affairs Team fo= r our dedication to this project and past history of promoting and advocating nudism on public lands.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions or suggestions.
