The weekend Carnegie Hall comes to Sun Meadow

By admin at 11:59 am on February 28, 2007 | No comments
=20 Spring is just around the corner and Sun Meadow is so happy to see it arriv= e that they are going to celebrate it with flair the likes of which the nudis= t world has never seen=85even at Sun Meadow. In fact, it=92s so special that = they have to begin telling you about it now just to do it justice. It=92s their Third Annual Festival of the Arts on the weekend of March 23-25 and for thi= s one they are bringing in an internationally acclaimed solo pianist to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut sellout of Carnegie Hall. Can you believe it? Her name is Robin Spielberg and, don=92t worry, she=92s bri= nging a Steinway grand piano to fill their stage and a Steinway technician to tun= e it. There are going to be so many special things that weekend that you=92ll want to get your room reservations in early, but this week we are going to tell you about just one of those special events. =20 As you might imagine, bringing Carnegie Hall to Sun Meadow will take a little bigger budget than they=92re used to, so they're going to offer a special fundraiser =93Dinner with Robin=94 on the mezzanine for a limited n= umber of guests. For $60 a plate, you will get a 5 course dinner set such that everyone will be graced with Robin=92s company. There will be waiters on ha= nd to serve your every need and each place setting will include an autographed souvenir ticket for the history-making concert to follow that evening. This dinner will surpass the legendary Black Tie/White Glove dinner that everyon= e looks forward to during the fall at Sun Meadow. They wanted everyone to hav= e a chance to dine with Robin, but the seating will be limited. So don=92t pu= t this off. Call Sun Meadow and reserve your seat at Robin=92s table today. 2= 08 686 8686=20
You=92ll have the pleasure of Robin=92s company, a dinner beyond belief, legendary service and the satisfaction of knowing that you helped to make this historic occasion happen=85the night Carnegie Hall comes to the Sun Meadow stage — a night that will be talked about in nudist circles for years to come. There is only one FIRST. The Northwest nudist scene is no stranger to Firsts, but this level of professional entertainment has not been seen in a venue where you are free to relax and leave your clothes behind!

–=20 No virus found in this outgoing message. AANR Weekly Report for February 23, 2007

By admin at 4:53 am on | No comments
Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
Thanks to Lake Como for a GREAT Board Meeting
I enjoyed seeing many of you last week during the mid-winter meeting=20 of AANR's Board of Trustees. It's evident from the many detailed=20 committee reports presented, that there are exciting things happening=20 with our Association this year. From Government Affairs to enhancing=20 AANR's brand through Public Relations, to updates on the marketing=20 consultant program, there was plenty to talk about.
=20
I deeply appreciate the warm welcome that Lake Como club extended to=20 us and its excellent service. The club has added some great=20 amenities and facilities since our last meeting there, too.=20
=20
Yes! ANOTHER Participating Business Signs on with AANR
Be sure to read Carolyn Hawkins' report below for details on AANR's=20 arrangement with Budget Rent A Car, the latest corporation to=20 affiliate with us as a participating business. In addition to=20 qualifying for member savings every time you rent, Budget will remit=20 a donation to AANR. So you win two ways! Now, you can opt for=20 member savings on virtually any car you plan on renting–Budget,=20 Avis, Hertz, or Alamo. Most are listed (along with booking=20 information) right on the back of your AANR membership card. You can=20 also log into the member benefits page on aanr.com for all savings=20 codes and kwik links to the sites you need.
=20
As equally important as the savings, these corporate partners help us=20 to mainstream nude recreation as a customary part of the travel=20 market.
=20
Way to go Carolyn for the extra effort that made this arrangement=20 with Budget possible!
=20
E-Bulletin distributed to nearly 9,000 email addresses
Yesterday AANR sent its debut issue of the E-Bulletin to most of the=20 email addresses on file for current members. In many cases, two or=20 more members in a household share one address, so the "mailing"=20 reached out to about 12,500 active members with active emails. About=20 40% of those sent messages have already opened their copies, with=20 many linking to the stories and information referenced therein.
=20
This issue of the E-Bulletin closely resembles the one that many of=20 you got a sneak peak at two weeks ago, but also includes an=20 invitation to visit AANR's Cap Wiz government affairs site.
=20
Active members wishing to be added to the distribution list can sign=20 up using the box in the members benefits section of our website=20 (enter with your last name and p number at=20 http://www.aanr.com/members.html ).=20=20
=20
Those who wish to be removed from the list 05 opt out with a very=20 simple process explained in every message. Moreover, those who have=20 directed AANR to send "no mail" to them in the past were removed=20 prior to the mailing, as well as certain Canadian addresses in=20 observance of privacy laws in place there (see below).=20
=20
An Important Message to our Members in Canada
In consideration of the Canadian Privacy Act, AANR has refrained from=20 sending an unsolicited copy of the E-Bulletin to our Canadian=20 friends. You can easily request to be added to our distribution list=20 just by visiting AANR's members only services area at=20 http://www.aanr.com/members.html (just use your last name and P=20 Number as explained). Look for the easy to use, one line=20 registration box.
=20
Sandpipers Club of Texas Gets Visit from the Houston Chronicle
This month Kristin Finin, a reporter/blogger with this major=20 newspaper "hit the road" in her RV to explore parts of Texas. Her=20 travels included a visit to Sandpipers near Edinburgh, and she=20 documents her experience with a video clip that you can download by=20 visiting here: http://blogs.chron.com/hittheroad/ (Scroll to the=20 bottom of the page to see this story, the video takes a while to=20 load.)
=20
Carolyn Hawkins, Public Relations Coordinator=20
SUCCESSFUL CRUISE
Congrats to Tom & Nancy and Bare Necessities for a successful=20 cruise. AANR representatives were available to answer questions,=20 speak with current members and sign up new ones. Check out the link=20 below for cruise mention on AOL
http://information.travel.aol.com/features/cruise
=20
Convention update
The agenda and schedule for the August convention will be available=20 on line in early March. If you plan to attend the convention get=20 your registration in early. In the next couple of weeks I will have=20 rental car information and local hotel information included in my=20 report.=20=20
=20
NUDE RECREATION WEEK (NRW)
We are in the process of creating the press release for Nude=20 Recreation Week. I encourage your club to get activities planned=20 early so you can be included when members call for information on=20 NRW. Open houses are very good and inexpensive. We will also have a=20 template release for your club to you use where you can insert the=20 club information and contact person.=20=20
=20
ALASKA NUDE CRUISE
The Alaska nude cruise is coming up in July. Again I am requesting=20 club brochures be sent to the AANR office. I still have a few left,=20 but we can always use them in our display rack at the AANR office.=20=20
=20
NEW PARTNER=20
AANR has partnered with Budget Rent A Car, which you will see in=20 Erich's report. If you would like to use Budget, the toll free=20 number is 1-800-527-0700 and the code is BCD S203527. In next week's=20 report I will have a link to Budget.
=20
PUBLICITY
We are still sending out releases and pitch stories. I will update=20 you as the response comes in.
=20
We continue to work with a show called "Spotlight On" and will keep=20 you posted.
=20
Linda Berry, Director of Publications
THE BULLETIN
The April issue is coming together. There's a nice variety of stories=20 that you won't want to miss.=20
=20
The Cyber-Bulletin
Check out the March issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, at=20 http://www.aanr.com/cyber_bulletin.html
=20
FTP SITE ON WWW.AANR.COM
For Bulletin advertisers who need to submit large files, we have a=20 new File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site to handle files up to 35 mg.=20 Contact Martha Young at bulletinads@aanr.com for additional=20 information.=20
=20
YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM=20=20=20=20=20=20=20
I have the story for the April Bulletin, and Judy Grisham and I are=20 working on the application that will be put on the AANR web site.=20 We'll provide more information to you next week.=20
=20
Nanette Wickersham, Club/Member Liaison
There are no directory changes this week.=20
=20
Patricia Orner, Government Affairs Coordinator: FL "a", JAMES RL "a",=20
MIDWINTER BOARD MEETING
Last Friday at the AANR Midwinter Board Meeting, I presented, on=20 behalf of the GAT team, a comprehensive written report and an oral=20 overview. It was met with positive feedback from the trustees.
=20
GREAT OUTDOORS WEEK
Plans have started for the annual June trip to Great Outdoors Week in=20 Washington, D.C. The success that AANR achieved, thanks to a great=20 presentation by Danielle Faber at Partners Outdoors 2007, will be=20 leveraged at this event that will highlight the federal=20 administrations goals of getting more American youth involved in=20 outdoor activities.
=20
LEGISLATIVE ACTION=20
All clubs are needed to get the word out about the latest tool in our=20 GAT/CAT arsenal =96 The AANR Legislative Action Center. Members wishing=20 to receive alerts on legislative issues, those who want to check who=20 their seated politicians are, and/or all CAT's NEED to visit the Web=20 site as soon as possible and make sure the correct email address is=20 set up. This latest benefit of AANR membership is available now=20 directly from www.aanr.com on the MEMBER BENEFITS and GOVERNMENT=20 AFFAIRS pages.
=20
Several ordinances at the county and city level are popping up across=20 the country defining licensing for sexually oriented businesses=20 (SOB). AANR continues to carefully watch these to ensure that=20 definitions and cross references to other regulations do not result=20 in unintended consequences. To fight this battle effectively, the CAT=20 network needs to be completed. Your AANR GAT/CAT Regional Chair needs=20 help in building this vital infrastructure. It requires eyes and ears=20 on the ground reading local newspapers, listening to local news=20 reports, attending local governmental meetings, letting the team know=20 where they 05 be positioned for influence or that they are willing=20 to become part of the team. I am so excited that calls are coming in=20 from potential CATs =96 but many, many, MANY more are needed.
=20
AANR GAT SW chair, Gary Spangler is working closely in TX with AANR=20 SW GA Committee head, Bob Morton, to ensure that TX HB 1466 does not=20 impede on the rights of non SOB business entities. I have also=20 flagged TX HB 202, TX SB 78 and TX HB 880 for evaluation of=20 unintended consequences and poorly structured definitions.
=20
Lobbyist Don Murphy who works for AANR and AANR East in MD reports=20 that a bill introduced there recently meant to discourage replicas of=20 anatomical appendages hanging from the back of pickup trucks =96 got=20 out of hand. The unintended consequences of this proposed legislation=20 could keep the AANR bare butt cartoon character used on the popular=20 auto magnets as well as the Coppertone girl off of moving vehicles.=20
=20
AANR GAT West Chair, Debra Sue Stevens, is monitoring a situation=20 where Rangers have reportedly by NAC alert threatened to impede=20 simple nude recreation in Southern CA.
=20
AANR NW Chair, Shirley Gauthier, and WA state chair, Steve Hubbard,=20 are preparing again for the popular UnClad Art Festival. Shirley is=20 also part of the team preparing for the AANR annual convention at the=20 Willies. AANR staff met at the office this week with auction chair,=20 Linda Johnson, and the plans for both a silent and live auction are=20 coming really well. Be sure to read the article in the April edition=20 of The Bulletin on this exciting development and visit the GA page on=20 www.aanr.com to download the donation form if you already know what=20 your club will contribute.
=20
AANR/FANR GAT Chair, Debra Kay Hedding, continues to work with=20 lobbyist Bob Levy and Richard Mason of SFFB/FNA and their lobbyist on=20 FL HB 269.=20

AANR Weekly Report for February 9, 2007

By admin at 11:07 am on February 10, 2007 | No comments

=20 AANR Weekly Report for February 9, 2007
=20
Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
E-Bulletin Distributed to AANR Clubs and Leaders this Week
Yesterday the first edition of AANR=92s all-new E-Bulletin made its debut appearance with a dispatch sent to all clubs, officers, and trustees. Of all copies distributed, only 14 =93bounced back=94 due to full inboxes, etc= . The E-Bulletin is designed to mesh with the look of www.aanr.com <http://www.aanr.com/> and to echo our brand.
If you received your edition, we=92d like to hear from you with your though= ts about this full-color electronic newsletter that will soon be sent to all AANR members who have an e-mail on file. If you didn=92t receive your issu= e but got the report you=92re reading now, please e-mail back to E-Bulletin editor Lynn Von Hagel at e.bulletin@yahoo.com so we can troubleshoot the problem.
We can already tell you that 40 percent of those who received the E-Bulleti= n opened it. Our link to the story about Buff Bowling in Maine received the most click-throughs although the folks organizing Here Comes the Fun (AANR= =92s 2007 Convention at The Willamettans) will be pleased to know there were als= o click-throughs to their registration page.
We look forward to bringing all members with an e-mail address this =93publication=94 within the next two weeks, and to bringing them a fresh edition every two weeks from then on. Expect a short, newsy piece with links and timely info about what=92s going on in the world of AANR and nude recreation.
AANR Planning Response to University of New Hampshire Study
There were considerable stories in the press this week about a UNH study reporting that 40 percent of youth ages 13-17 had been exposed to pornography on the Internet. Normally that wouldn=92t be an issue with us except that the stories noted that, for the purposes of the study, pornography was defined as a picture of either sex between persons or an image of a naked person.=94
Recognizing that newspapers don=92t always get things just right, Pat Orner= , our Government Affairs Coordinator, called the UNH research professor who coordinated the study. Turns out the study was done in 2005 but that it wa= s true=85 they defined pornography to include any naked person explaining, = =93we couldn=92t find an easy way to distinguish between nudity and porn.=94=20=20
Our inquiries, =93what about art works, painting, biology texts, [or simple nudist material]?=94 were met with a long pause and a =93we never thought a= bout that.=94
We are in the process of preparing a written response to the University which diplomatically outlines the problems we see in automatically equating all nudity with pornography, and offering to serve as a credible resource i= n framing future studies. We=92ll let you know how things go.
—————————————————————————= – —————-=20
Carolyn Hawkins, Public Relations Coordinator=20
Carolyn is on the Bare Necessities Cruise.=20
—————————————————————————= – —————-=20=20
Linda Berry, Director of Publications
THE BULLETIN
The March issue goes to the printer on Tuesday.=20
—————————————————————————= – —————-=20
Patricia Orner, Government Affairs Coordinator:
All clubs are needed to get the word out about the latest tool in our GAT/CAT arsenal =96 The AANR Legislative Action Center. Members wishing to receive alerts on legislative issues, those who want to check who their seated politicians are and/or all CATs, NEED to visit the Web site as soon as possible and make sure the correct e-mail address is set up. This latest benefit of AANR membership is available now directly from www.aanr.com <http://www.aanr.com/> on the MEMBERS AREA and GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS pages.
SESSION SUMMARY
There are 42 states, D.C. and U.S. in Regular Session. OH is in Skeleton Session. DE is in Budget Hearings. IL is in Perfunctory Session.
This week, State Net Smart Search added 259 bills to the list to be evaluated because they contain language that 05 affect AANR members. All summaries are read and those requiring additional attention are referred to your Regional GAT chairs for evaluation. At the same time, AANR staff reads the text and then communicates with the Regional Chairs to determine if a bill will be watched, targeted for immediate attention or suppressed if in fact it is not relevant to our member=92s issues. Your GAT team receives weekly a report from State Net on all bills they are watching. Some bills require daily or even hourly tracking. These dedicated volunteers give freely of their time to help ensure we get the word early on an issue that needs to be watched. The reality is that the machinery of legislatures ofte= n moves quickly and your team needs all the eyes and ears they can get to mak= e this a successful program. That is where CAT comes into play. AANR needs every club to select a Community Action Team (CAT) volunteer leader and get that name and contact number to your regional GAT chair. REMEMBER =96 State Net only tells us the bills and regulations active at the state level. No similar tool exists that will alert your GAT team to local ordinances.=20
REGIONAL REPORTS=20
AANR SW =96 No staff support requested in this region this week.
FANR =96Staff is still watching HB 269 and working closely with AANR/FANR G= AT Chair Debra Kay Hedding. Thanks to FANR Lobbyist Bob Levy, we are kept up-to-date on prefiled bills as the FL session opens March 6, 2007.=20
WCANR =96 No staff support requested in this region this week.
AANR EAST =96Jimmy Corsentino is planning to attend the regional recreation forum March 9 in Marietta, GA. Staff is following up on a proposed adult entertainment ordinance in Camden County, N.C. caught by a member of the AANR East CAT network which 05 require attendance at a public hearing in March.=20
AANR WEST =96 No staff support requested in this region this week
AANR NW =96 Staff has sent more materials to assist with meetings in this region as we become more positioned and as the sessions begin to add bills to the hoppers. Special thanks to Steve Hubbard for keeping tabs on WA=20
AANR MIDWEST =96 Staff is watching a bill in TN (a state shared by this reg= ion and AANR East) that calls for the elimination of taxes on food and the possibility of =93sin=94 taxes initiated to make up the shortfalls. Fiscal = notes on TN HB 155 and SB 305 indicate that =93According to the Department of Revenue, taxable sales of food and food ingredients in Tennessee for FY05-0= 6 were approximately $7.753 billion.=94 SB 667/HB770 named "Food Tax =96 Adu= lt Materials Tax Swap Act of 2007" is being researched by staff.
AANR D.C. =96 Plans have begun for Great Outdoors Week in D.C. in June. All clubs need to present their requests for participation to their Regional GAT/CAT Chair as we will take this up on the GAT CHAT 2-20-07.
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
=20
— No virus found in this incoming message. AANR Weekly Report for February 2, 2007

By admin at 12:11 pm on February 4, 2007 | No comments

=20
AANR Weekly Report for February 2, 2007
=20
Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
AANR Office Safe and Sound We appreciate the many calls and e-mails we received today in the wake of news about violent thunderstorms and tornadoes which struck central Florida last night. We=92re very fortunate that the AANR office did not sustain an= y damage and only relatively light damage to homes and property in this county. Next-door-neighbor Lake County was not so fortunate: At least 14 people were killed and multiple homes and businesses were leveled by tornadoes.=20=20
If you have any information on how our fellow clubs and members fared durin= g last night=92s storm, please let us know. =20
Update on Cindy Horton You 05 recall that our financial supervisor and long-time employee Cindy Horton went into the hospital for lung surgery a few weeks ago. We have learned that a tumor removed from her lung turned out to have cancer within it after several tests were run. Doctors appear to have removed all of the cancer, and her prognosis is very good. However, she will be undergoing chemotherapy treatments periodically over the next 3-4 months as a precautionary measure. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for Cindy, and ask for patience if it takes a little longer for a financial report or information to get back to you than Cindy=92s normal lightning-speed turnaround. We=92re glad Cindy has gotten back on her feet as quickly as s= he has. We also appreciate her daughter Nan Wickersham=92s extra measure of help. =20
Participating Businesses Win January and February Friends of AANR Contests We=92re delighted to announce that Living Waters Spa of Palm Springs, California, and Under the Sun Boutique have been drawn as winners in AANR= =92s contest to celebrate and give an added measure of reward to those participating businesses who provide self-mailing Friends of AANR brochure forms to guests which are returned to the AANR office.
Guests who complete the self-mailer and send it to us post paid receive two free issues of The Bulletin, plus information about joining AANR and our list of clubs. There is space on the mailer for the referring business to place a mark letting us know where the lead came from. Each month, we draw a card from those returned, and award a prize to the business generating it= .
Living Waters Spa and Under the Sun will receive a nice piece of merchandis= e from the AANR line as our way of saying =93thanks.=94 To all participating businesses (and clubs, even regions participating in trade shows, etc.) why not contact AANR today for a supply of Friends self mailers and =93get in t= he game=94? =20
AANR MIDWINTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING I look forward to seeing many of you at the AANR board meeting in two weeks= .
—————————————————————————= – ————————————=20
Carolyn Hawkins, Public Relations Coordinator=20
Publicity
We are still working with a show called =93Spotlight On=94 and will keep yo= u posted as we continue.
I will not have a report next Friday as I will be leaving for the cruise on February 3. I will happily display your club brochures at the AANR table. If you are going on the cruise, be sure to stop by and say hello.
—————————————————————————= – ————————————=20=20
Linda Berry, Director of Publications
THE CYBER-BULLETIN Read all about Naked Gardening Day in the new edition at http://www.aanr.com/cyber_bulletin.html
—————————————————————————= – ————————————=20
Patricia Orner, Government Affairs Coordinator
Much of my time this week was spent in analysis of the 1343 bills in the hopper between 8-01-2006, when most pre-file periods began, and today. Thes= e have been targeted by State Net Smart Search because they contain language that 05 affect AANR members. All summaries have been read, and those requiring additional attention have been referred to your Regional GAT chairs for evaluation. At the same time, AANR staff reads the text and then communicates with the Regional Chairs to determine if a bill will be watched, targeted for immediate attention, or suppressed if in fact it is not relevant to our members=92 issues.
