AANR Weekly Report for September 22, 2006

HEALTHY HEART LUNCH FOR Carolyn Hawkins
The staff invited Carolyn to the office this week for a Healthy Heart Potluck. Everyone researched recipes or revised existing ones to make sure it was heart healthy. Carolyn is looking great and continues to improve.
As a reminder, AANR is still available to assist you with your PR needs during Carolyn's absence. Please direct your requests to Steve Vickers at prasst@aanr.com or myself.
Linda Berry, Director of Publications
The Bulletin The October issue is on its way to you.
Patricia Orner – Government Affairs Coordinator
ASSATEAGUE BEACH CLEAN UP
The AANR East team reports that neither wet, nor chills nor permits stopped our brave volunteers from participating in the annual beach clean up. Watch the November issue of The Bulletin for "the rest of the story."
Dear Abby and Beaches
As positive accolades ring out in columns like Dear Abby that there is nothing sinful about nude beaches – AANR GAT regional teams are working in FL, MD, CA, MA and Hawaii to protect and procure designated patches of sand for nude recreation. Is there a nude-shore project your club wants to have added to this plan? Let me know at government@aanr.com
In Maryland District 38B, AANR needs to show the to-be-elected delegates that there are reasons to support our rights on Assateague Beach. In the recent Republican Primary, one of the two emerging candidates has in the past been less than supportive of the nude beach. AANR needs locations in this voting district to place yard signs. If you have friends/relatives/property in the Salisbury, Maryland, area or if you live in Maryland and want a beach at Assateague, PLEASE contact me at government@aanr.com or call toll free 1-800-TRY-NUDE.
NPS NEWS
John Hunter, AANR D.C.
