AANR Weekly Report for June 9, 2006
AANR Weekly Report for June 9, 2006
Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
On the Road Again!
Today I am traveling to Massachusetts where I'll join AANR East Government Affairs Chair Jim Corsentino, Bill Falconer, members of the Sunchasers club, Sandy Terraces, NAC, and over 100 other volunteers for the annual Cape Cod beach cleanup project on the National Seashore. The event helps build goodwill with the rangers and staff there.
Washington, D.C.
On Monday I will travel to the nation's capital to join AANR Government Affairs Chair Alonzo Stevens and regional government chairs for the American Recreation Coalition's (ARC) Great Outdoors Week. Great Outdoors brings together members of the tourism and recreation community like Coleman sporting goods, Disney, and yes, AANR, to meet with officials from Congress and an "alphabet soup" of federal agencies from the National Park Service to the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and more. As part of its trip, the AANR team makes visits to congressional offices. In each of these settings, we introduce ourselves as a resource on the subject of nude recreation and advocate for it. I want to thank our members and clubs for the dues money that makes this possible. A regular presence at ARC establishes crucial credibility.
I will not return to the AANR office until Thursday of next week. Should you need to reach me, please contact the AANR office at 1-800-TRY-NUDE and leave a message. I will do my best to check for messages regularly. I will also do my best to check e-mail sent to me at ExecDir@aanr.com at least once per day while on the road.
Nude U and Marketing Ambassador Groups Convene Beginning this Weekend
On Friday a new cadre of Nude U students will meet at Cypress Cove. Nude U (college age students) attendees learn how to be a resource bringing the message of nude recreation back to their home clubs, regions, and on-campus groups. They are a valuable resource for region-based youth camps.
Ambassadors–On Sunday one half dozen "Gen X and Gen Y" folks will also begin meeting at Cypress Cove to learn how to be AANR's marketing arm to these generations. We will also gain valuable insights from them! There is a packed schedule of seminars from such speakers as Pete Williams (former USA Today sports writer and staff writer for The Bulletin), plus Toastmaster representatives and AANR PR Chair Susan Weaver. I'd like to thank AANR Trustee Bill Williamson for his instrumental help in making this program a reality.and Carolyn Hawkins of my staff for so much help with logistics!
——————-
Nanette Wickersham, Club/Member Liaison
Directory changes for addresses and phone numbers from this week are listed below.
06-05-06 AANR-E Director: Contact Information Gloria Waryas 6564 Sunshine Street Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 910/579-5423 (home) glow1@together.net
06/07/06 Gulf Coast Nudist Yacht Club: Address P O Box 47 Friendswood, TX 77549
06/08/06 AANR-MW Director: Address & Phone Number 19922 50th Street Live Oak, FL 32060 Remove: 219/464-9774
06/08/06 Healthy Hides of Houston: Address P O Box 590640 Houston, TX 77259
If you wish to receive C.O. changes from this week, or would like an updated Directory (electronic or hard copy), please contact me at clubinfo@aanr.com or 800/879-6833.
——————-
Linda Berry, Director of Publications
June Magazine
The publications department has had great response to the magazine.
