Mailed ballots postmarked by June 20 will still be accepted by VR Elections systems until next Tuesday. VR will then take a few days processing and tabulating.
To date, 2,787 ballots have been cast. A very limited number of these have been invalidated by VR Elections either because they were unmarked (survey answered only) or a person had mistakenly voted on the internet and mailed in a ballot believing they had to submit both.
No one within the AANR office knows the direction that the election is taking. However, election results will be posted online to the AANR.com Web site in the "Ballot Box" area at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday July 5, 2006. We wish all candidates the very best.
Welcome to New Regional Presidents While the results of the AANR-wide officer and trustee election are not yet complete, there have been two elections of regional presidents. In FANR, we welcome President Tina Barnott and her newly elected board. We extend similar congratulations and welcomes to President Lucy Hyde of the AANR SW and her board.
Committee Faire is Coming Ye Olde Committee Faire . Make that the latest and greatest in committee faires.. will be held once again during the AANR Convention at De Anza Springs. AANR Committee Chairs are asked to prepare a table display, handouts, and other information of interest to members to help educate them about what our various teams do. Please plan to set up the items on your tables and staff them from 2:00 to 4:30 on Thursday of convention week.
AANR Helping Members This week AANR provided assistance to AANR Members and their families in several ways. In Florida, we provided information to a club about basic landlord/tenant and liability questions. We also assisted a Florida grandmother in an ongoing legal case with at least one issue –her ability to let grandchildren accompany her on visits to her favorite club.
We answered questions about enjoying nudity in the backyard for a member in California. We're also lending assistance to a member on the East Coast who faces adverse employment action for discussing nude recreation in their workplace.
CNN Pasco Story Has Internet Traffic on AANR.com Up Many of you have called or written us to let us know you have seen a version of the Associated Press article about the growth and competition between the larger nudist clubs of Pasco County, Florida. The latest appears on CNN.com at http://www.cnn.com/2006/TRAVEL/06/22/nude.resorts.ap/ but related pieces ran in USA Today, MSNBC, The Vancouver Sun, The Seattle Post Intelligencer, The Chicago Sun Times, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, and more. While we do not agree with everything voiced in the piece, we trust that the increased awareness generated by it will be a rising tide that lifts these clubs.
In fact, and perhaps buoyed by references to the American Association for [sic] Nude Recreation in the story, we've noted that traffic to the http://www.aanr.com Web site has been particularly strong this week. For example, nearly 17,000 pages of information were downloaded from our site on yesterday alone.
Nanette Wickersham, Club/Member Liaison Directory changes for addresses and phone numbers from this week are listed below.
06/19/06 Dakota Prairie Sun Club: Address P O Box 684 Worthington, MN 56187
06/20/06 Juniper Woods: Phone & Email 518/945.1399 (voice/fax) p.kercher@worldnet.att.net
Lupin: Phone, E-mail, & URL 408/353-9200 (voice) relax@lunpinlodge.com www.lupinlodge.org/aanr
06/21/06 Avalon: URL Add: www.avalon-resort.com
Okanagan Shuswap Nudist Society: Address P O Box 20182 Kelowna, BC V1Y 9H2 Canada
If you wish to receive C.O. changes from this week, or would like an updated Directory (electronic or hard copy), please contact me at clubinfo@aanr.com or 800/879-6833.

Linda Berry, Director of Publications
Time Capsule Celebrates 75 Years One highlight of the AANR 75th Convention will be the burying of a time capsule, with 75 years of memorabilia. The web site is already available as a way to enter and promotional pieces will be on the general Yahoo GAT chat room.
Debra Sue Stevens has also accepted the responsibility under the umbrella of the GAT committee for the annual convention silent auction fundraiser at August Convention. Appeals have been made to the clubs with letters and flyers in the weekly club mailings from the AANR office. This vital funding source for Government Affairs will be held on Friday August 11th at DeAnza Springs and with anticipated support through club and individual donations, this should be the best (and most fun) auction ever.
ELECTION CONNECTION As the Regions hold conventions and elections I hope to begin to have reports soon of amounts allocated to Government Affairs.
