AANR Weekly Report for June 2, 2006

Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director
75th Anniversary Magazine
Please read Linda Berry's report for an update on the magazine.
A Warm Welcome to Under the Sun – AANR's latest participating business.
This week we were delighted to receive a participating business agreement from Under the Sun Boutique. Based at Caliente, Under the Sun is known to many AANR and Region convention-goers for their traveling displays selling wraps, pareos, jewelry and other accessories. We're delighted to have them with us!
While we're on the subject of participating businesses, I'd also like to thank another recent participant, the Newport Beachside of Miami, for its contribution of a stay that will be included in our silent auction package.
Website Traffic is UP!
May ended on a high note, driven in part by interest in nude recreation over the Memorial Day holiday, a recent Associated Press story about Pasco County, Florida's AANR resorts, and the Association's decision to post archives of The Cyber-Bulletin in publicly assessable areas of our website.
Visitors have clearly come seeking these articles, as evidenced by keywords entered into on various search engines as tracked by our website software. They are spending longer on site and downloading more pages. The average time spent on a site visit increased by nearly 30 seconds (which is considerable because times are averaged over tens of thousands of visits and do not frequently increase or decrease dramatically.) In all, over, 212,000 pages of information were downloaded from aanr.com in May.
When you next visit AANR.com, you'll find a number of subtle changes designed to further increase traffic, and to reflect AANR's brand position and new mission statement.
What does all this mean for the Association and its clubs? It means more people educated about nude recreation, who, by also spending more time onsite, are vested with a greater interest in taking the next step of purchasing AANR's North American Guide, and making a visit to a club near them.
Public Relations Visit
This week Mary Jane and Marie of the YPB&R team visited the AANR office where they joined Carolyn, PR Chair Susan Weaver (via phone linkup), and me in planning for the summer and beyond. Nude Recreation Week and AANR's Convention at DeAnza Springs are high priority items, plus creating more tools that clubs can use to promote and grow their business.
News You Can Use:
New Demographic on The American Camper are Available to Clubs at AANR.com
Among the tools developed by YPB&R for clubs is a collection of articles on topics from improving customer service, creating your brand, and more. This month they have prepared a demographic profile on the American Camper in conjunction with the firm's work for ARVC. To access this report, simply visit http://www.aanr.com/club_services.html then type in the username and password that we provide to clubs. You can read this online at http://www.wect.com/Global/story.asp?S=4971185&nav=2gQc
Associated Press Story on Pasco County
In other news, an Associated Press story about clubs in Florida hit many newspaper and online outlets last week. Although the piece played up competition among clubs for effect, it did bring considerable attention to the area as a nudist destination, with favorable quotes from county officials, plus stats from AANR. Find one version online at
http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/news/local/14690392.h tm
Silent Auction Items Needed
In your next club mailing, please watch for our memo about the Silent Auction to benefit AANR's Government Affairs program to be held at DeAnza Springs during convention.
