Steve Hubbard in WA, Terri Lawrence in Id, Bill Bisbee and=20 Craig George in Mt, Mark Buchweitz a Friend of AANR representing=20 Sauvie Island and Rooster Rock State Park, and Sharon Parker our=20 Statenet Representative. The search for a volunteer to represent=20 Alaska continues! In addition to the State GAT Chairs "Friend of=20 AANR" Mark Buchweitz, AANR GAT volunteer Craig George from Montana,=20 AANR-NW Statenet representative Sharon Parker, AANR GAT Chair-Alonzo=20 Stevens, AANR-West GAT Chair-Debra Stevens, AANR-NW Presidential=20 candidate Mike Parker and Hidden Springs member Lance Fredricks=20 attended the 3rd AANR-NW GAT Training June 16-18 at Mountaindale Sun=20 Resort west of Portland.=20=20<br>=20<br>Alonzo, Debra, and Steve generously made travel arrangements to=20 attend the GAT training after spending a week in Washington DC=20 representing AANR members at the Great Outdoors Week event.<br>=20<br>Arriving at Mountaindale Sun Resort (formally Restful Haven) it was=20 immediately obvious that much more has changed at Mountaindale Sun=20 Resort (MSR) than the name change. The drive up the hill was a=20 pleasure as it was lined with welcome signs. The grounds were=20 absolutely beautiful as were the newly refurbished rental units,=20 which included new bedding. The sundeck was home to a new=20 commercial size barbecue and dinning furniture.=20=20<br>=20<br>On February 4 AANR-NW GAT received an email from MSR President Byrd=20 soliciting to host the AANR-NW GAT training. She provided weekends=20 we could choose from, and what they had to offer in way of hosting=20 the event. Thank you MSR members and volunteers for making the=20 weekend a memorable one and once again supporting the GAT.<br>=20<br>MSR also hosts the Rooster Rock/Sauvie Island beach cleanup the=20 first weekend in August. All beach volunteers get free ground fees=20 for the two days if they do volunteer work at the beach. A=20 wonderful low cost dinner is provided. Volunteers love having the=20 opportunity to socialize, soak in the hot tub and camp after a hard=20 day of beach work. MSR has held several fundraisers to support AANR- NW GAT, which provide funds for additional activities.<br>=20<br>AANR GAT Chair Alonzo presented a workshop on Community Awareness=20 Teams and their value in our communities. His presentation raised=20 our awareness concerning the value of having local contacts in our=20 communities to be the eyes and ears for GA committees. AANR GAT=20 depends on all members to continue our success.<br>=20<br>AANR Dues paying members provide the funds for our AANR staff. GAT=20 volunteers work with AANR a non-profit that values and appreciates=20 volunteers, members, resorts, clubs and public lands. We have a=20 membership that works towards advocating nudism on public lands and=20 partnering with resorts and clubs to raise awareness, preserve our=20 nudist rights and set GAT members up for success. Thanks to the=20 AANR staff and AANR Board our work is made easier. AANR dues paying=20 members provide the necessary resources we need to do our work.<br>=20<br>Hundreds of volunteers contribute to the AANR-NW GAT success.
