Do You know The 9 Goals of the AANR Education Foundation?

By admin at 10:46 pm on | No comments

Goal: Achieving public acceptance of social nudity in appropriate setting.
AANREF – A Partner In The Nudist Community
Achieving public acceptance of social nudity in appropriate setting is just one of the nine goals that the AANR Education Foundation wishes to achieve.
The AANR Educational Foundation has been granted 501 (c) (3) status by the IRS. This designation means that tax deductible contributions and bequests 05 now be made to the foundation by persons, estates or business entities who wish to fund programs in support of AANREF's goals and objectives. To that end, AANREF seeks partnerships with individuals and groups in support of the creation of art, literature and scholarship, which relate to the nudist world. The Foundation's aim is to improve life by developing community support for nudist resorts, clubs, groups and natural areas.
Another goal of AANREF is to promote the creation, preservation and display of art that is relevant to the nudist community.
The human body has been a subject for artists for centuries and some of our finest works of art feature nudes.
Pablo Picasso once commented, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
However, in an increasingly conservative climate, it is becoming more difficult for artists who paint, draw, sculpt or photograph nudes to find venues for their work.
Many clubs are now featuring Nude Art Shows, Cypress Cove Nudist Resort and Spa in Kissimmee, Florida, hosted "The Body of Art," an art festival that embraced nude art. The event took place December 11-12, and was open to the public.
According to one of the resort's managers, Barbara Hadley, "Artists need a venue to display and sell nude art. What better place than a resort that already celebrates the human form?"
Cypress Cove received applications from over 25 artists who were eager to participate. The show takes on a personal meaning at the resort. Lyda Hadley, one of the resort's founders was a dedicated advocate of the arts and was active in the art community in Osceola County, the county in which Cypress Cove is located. The event was a fitting tribute to her memory while providing a valuable service to the art community.
A partnership, a developer, a supporter, a mentor and a promoter – whatever the vocational title, the AANREF seeks to respond to unique opportunities that enhance nude recreation and nude living.

* * * If you would like to help * * *
* * * please send your tax deductible donation to: * * *

The AANR Education Foundation, Inc. C/O Bob Ohlwiler, Secretary / Treasurer 21629 Silver Bay Place Land O' Lakes, Florida 34637
Request for funding or a grant for a project 05 be made to Pat Plumstead at the AANR office. By admin at 10:35 pm on | No comments

Your chance to Vote for Nude Recreation on MSNBC's Today Show. AANR Electronic Club Weekly Report for April 22, 2005 edited by Paul Tuttle
>From the desk of Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director: Execdir@aanr.com
As some of you 05 have learned from previous e-mail messages circulating this week, The Today Show is running a story / online vote for the "Top 50 things to do before you die." Among the list is visiting a nudist colony (it's about 10 up from the bottom of the list.) Okay, okay, I know we don't call our parks and clubs "colonies" but this is still a great opportunity to demonstrate the popularity of nude recreation.
The top five vote-getters will be featured on a Today Show segment in May. We are asking everyone to vote in this online poll so that nude recreation emerges as a front-runner, leading to the future story possibility with this show.
To vote, visit: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7501439/#anc_Today_Top50Experienceswww.aanr.com/
A few words about consistent advocacy for nude recreation
>From time to time in weekly reports we try to provide a glimpse of the regular nudist advocacy efforts that your support for our association makes possible
- Within the past two weeks, AANR has assisted a mom who frequents AANR clubs in California with maintaining the custody of her two sons and allowing them to visit clubs with her—when an ex spouse challenged her over the issue; A complete set of legal materials on the subject was forwarded to this mom to use with her counsel after telephone conferences;
- We also assisted a member from Arizona who is encountering difficulties on the job after briefly mentioning his enjoyment of nude recreation in the workplace.
You can be proud that, collectively, you have played a part in lending this assistance to members in need.
>From the desk of Pat Plumstead, Executive Assistant: ExOffice@aanr.com <mailto:ExOffice@aanr.com:>
Convention Awards Time Is Just Around The Corner
HIGHLIGHTED AWARD – The Rick Athearn Photography Award recognizes photographers whose photographs best display the beauty and enjoyment of family and social nudism and have been published in the AANR Bulletin. Photographs need to be published during the current year (May to May). The photos 05 not have been used for advertising, or for commercial purposes in the Bulletin or other publications. The works of both professional and non professional will be considered, however photos paid for by the Bulletin 05 not be included. Judging will be based on the actual printed photograph as published in the Bulletin, not on the original, unpublished photo.
QUESTION – What weighs about 2 lbs, is 12" tall and will travel the North American continent in the company of nudists? See the answer in next week's e-newsletter!
Set aside July 22-25 to attend a special seminar hosted by Turtle Lake, Union City Michigan on "So -You want to own a nudist club". June is already in production.
Miscellaneous I received a copy of the book, Fun is Good, by Mike Veeck, the AANR Keynote Convention Speaker. What a humorous and inspirational story he has to tell about creating joy and passion in the workplace. You won't want to miss hearing him on Thursday, August 11 at Caliente.
>From the desk of Carolyn Hawkins, Public Relations Coordinator: Clubinfo@aanr.com
> > "These Golfers Play the Real Skins Game" < <
Last week, Cypress Cove Resort called the AANR office and asked if we would be interested in being interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel for a story about Nude Golfing. Since I only know several serious ??? golfers, I called Ron Plumstead and asked if he would be interested. Ron arrived at Cypress with his golf clubs, his hat and his tennis shoes. The next day, a 6×7" picture of Ron and his golf bag making a pitch shot appeared in the newspaper. A photo of Ted Hadley and myself high-fiving each other on our win completed the almost full-page of this story. The article recounted how the 9 hole course was created by Ted Hadley and continues to be enjoyed by the Cove golfers. The reporter gradually lost his shirt, shoes and ultimately pants by the 9th hole. Although he wasn't converted, he left with a better understanding of nude recreation.
I invite you to go to http://www.orlandosentinel.com and do a search on Rich Maese, the reporter. The entire story and pictures will highlight "These Golfers Play the Real Skins Game"
{I had better luck searching for 'nude golf' – ed.}
I am attending the Assateague Beach Clean-up this weekend. More on this beach next week.
AANR IN PRINT
* There was an article in the April 25th issue of ESPN Magazine, regarding nude sports
Reminder that Nude Recreation Week will be celebrated July 4 – 10, 2005.
Below is a list of the clubs who have contacted me with their events. Carolyn Hawkins of our office, who was close to Evan and his wife Polly, provides further information, including arrangements that have been made, below:
Evan Bell was very special to me. I have known Evan and Polly, his wife since my first joining AANR in 1990. It was always a pleasure to have them visit Kissimmee and share photos of the many trips they took. I will never forget the day I learned he was in the hospital with a heart condition and the continuing reports of his decline. Evan was a happy, jolly and very outgoing man and it was a pleasure to be in his company. He certainly liked to have fun and it was an honor to know him.
Services were held yesterday at the Methodist Church and a memorial fund has been set up.
Evan W. We're very excited to report that our number of registered members using the bulletin board services alone on AANR.com topped over 1,000 last week. The Forest is taking this step to increase presence and provide for a safer experience at the site. As a result of this change, visitors to Terwilliger will pay a $5 per person site use fee – a $2 increase from last year.
Increased onsite presence is the best tool we have to provide a safer, more enjoyable, and cleaner environment for everyone who comes to visit, said John Harper, site manager at McKenzie River Ranger District.
"We have not been able to provide the resources needed at Terwilliger due to a reduced recreation budget, said Mary Allison, McKenzie River District Ranger. Here, we have an opportunity to enter into partnership with an existing concessionaire, Hoodoo Recreation Services, to provide a much higher level of oversight.
Allison says the 2005 operating season at Terwilliger will be a trial year to evaluate whether the site can be managed success- fully under concession. Hoodoo Recreation Services currently manages other Forest Service recreation sites in the Terwilliger area, including Cougar Crossing, Slide Creek and Delta Campgrounds. Terwilliger Hot Springs is a valuable local resource, said Chuck Shepard of Hoodoo Recreation Services. Visitor fees will help keep the area more safe by providing onsite hosts.
Shepard proposes to staff the area twelve hours a day during holidays and weekends, and a minimum of eight hours a day during the week. The hot springs will continue to be operated as a day-use site, closed to the public at night.
Visitors to Terwilliger should experience a seamless transition from Forest Service to concessionaire management. Children five and under will be admitted free, and Hoodoo Recreation Services will honor the Golden Age and Golden Access Passes, allowing those visitors to be admitted to the site at half- price. Visitors can pay the $5 per person fee onsite, or can purchase the concessionaires annual Terwilliger pass for $50 directly from Hoodoo Recreation Services, on-site from the Hoodoo Recreation Services attendants, at Patio RV Park in Blue River, the Campstore at Hoodoo Ski Lodge, and at Umbrella Properties in Eugene. Existing Terwilliger Passes will be honored through their expiration date.
The USDA Forest Service is an equal opportunity provider and employer
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= End of Press Release =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
