We have recently sent a laminated poster to our clubs to help you suggestively sell. If you didn't get yours or would like another, please let Carol know.
Pressing on to restore Assateague Beach. This week AANR and AANR East have made yet another effort to restore a clothing optional section to Assateague Beach in Maryland. In this case, we have arranged to send 2,000 post card / self mailers to homeowners who reside in the districts of two key lawmakers who have been approachable to the subject. The cards are very discreet (we use terms like "au naturel" and the only photo depicts empty dunes and beach grass), post-paid, and simply ask people to check a box and drop in the mail.
We are going directly to the people in Maryland based on strong scientific polling results that show a majority of state voters support creating a clothing-optional area. This is a new strategy and we will keep you apprised of results. I applaud AANR and AANR East Government Affairs teams for being open to such new initiatives.
I also want to personally thank AANR Government Affairs Coordinator Pat Orner for her efforts in getting this done.
Naturally California Issue Prompts Columnist to Write "There's Nothing Wrong with Family Nudist Clubs." There is a column appearing in today's issue of the North Coast Times which is a must read: It is evident that this reporter has been well educated. Read for yourself at http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2005/03/25/news/columnists/trageser/22_13_153_24_05.txt
We welcome this development and applaud Brian Spence and the Naturally California / AANR and AANR West teams for the proactive work that has made this possible.
New Content Available on AANR.com – Within the members' only area you'll find Read More About it articles by Bill Williamson, plus all new puzzlers in the Kidz Zone of our Just for Fun pages. We've added a Government Affairs forum to the AANR Message Boards. And…in the coming soon department… we encourage our clubs to look for all new clip art that will be available within weeks in the Clubs Only area featuring cartoons by Ron Warne of Bulletin fame.
Building Materials Available – In an effort to provide our clubs with a broad range of support services we recently obtained photos and floor plans of an extremely unique concession building and expansive covered deck structure that just hit the market. We have digitals available to email if this interests you. The contractor says that he will take it apart and hold the materials up to 6 months for the right buyer. We inspected the buildings which survived the three hurricanes of 2004 in terrific condition. Time is of the essence as rare items like this do not last long.
>From the desk of Pat Plumstead, Executive Assistant: ExOffice@aanr.com <mailto:ExOffice@aanr.com:>
Enhance Your Website – Become a part of the AANR Technology Group – For many clubs, their website is proving to be a primary way of attracting new members. As the new AANR website has demonstrated this through statistics gathered and reviewed since it's debut, so should this advantage be shared by our clubs. I have had many conversations and e-mails with regions and clubs that are interested in restructuring and enhancing their sites. A preliminary info e-mail will be sent to any club / region who request it to be sent to them.
New Ruling Documents on Website in the club and members areas – available for download are Procedure Manual and Official AANR Forms, in addition to the existing By-laws.
Visit the Wreck Beach initiative on www.wreckbeach.org. – GET ACTIVE!
>From the desk of Linda Berry, Director of Publications: Editor@aanr.com
North American Guide Members are buying the Guide daily, many of them online.
