Edited by Mel Kanner AANR-NW Trustee ———————————————————— —–<br>AANR Weekly Report for September 17, 2004=20=20=20=20=20=20=20 =20=20=20=20=20=20<br>From the desk of Erich Schuttauf, Executive Director: <a href=/group/AANR-NW-eNews/post?postID=CsF8TimURxO62hkn4TVHmO99nvfP2Drd9we0kbYN6qMHp-_J8_3VK-5Z01lHxTkTnk6zSxmBy2mclX0_>Try-nude@aanr.com</a><br>Update on Hurricane Ivan=92s Impact on AANR Clubs Dear Clubs, Officers, Trustees, Concerned Members and Friends,<br>As you know, hurricane Ivan struck yesterday and today, impacting shores from Florida=92s panhandle to Alabama and Louisiana.=A0 We have been attempting to contact AANR clubs in affected areas and have the following information:<br>Sunburst Resort =96 Milton, Florida in the panhandle lost a large number of trees, which were felled by very strong winds.=A0 There is a very thick layer of leaves scattered throughout the park and some nominal damage to buildings as well as one resident=92s mobile home.=A0 The club is currently without power.=A0 Given the large number of trees blocking roads and paths, the club anticipates that it 05 not re-open to visitors until Halloween weekend. =A0Thankfully, no one was physically hurt.<br>Riviera Resort =96 Pace, Florida appears to be without telephone service and its status is unknown.=A0 However, given its 20 or so mile proximity to Sunburst Resort, off-site officers expect some damage to the club and its fences.=20<br>Bay Bares =96 Youngstown, Florida.=A0 The third club in Florida=92s panhandle fared o.k. during the first two hurricanes, Charley and Frances.=A0 It=92s status is not known following Ivan, but telephone answering machines for the club were working.<br>Bama Bares =96 Robertsdale, AL =96 No information is available at this time.<br>Gymno-Vita Park =96 Vandiver, Alabama is located outside of Birmingham.=A0 As of the time of our contact, the club was without power and wind gusts had not yet ended, making it difficult to get outside to assess damage.=A0 The owners are physically unharmed, but expect the club to be closed to visitors over the next 3-4 days, given heavy rains and anticipated high creek levels.<br>La Pines Ranch =96 Lacombe, LA =96 Located just off Interstate 10, this club was spared from most ill effects of the storm.=A0 Power flickered, but is working properly at this time.<br>The previous information will be posted to our AANR.com website.=A0 Our website also features information about the status of other Florida clubs in the aftermath of hurricanes Charley and Frances.=A0 It was updated as of last Thursday, September 9, 2004.<br>Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by these storms.<br>Theresa Heinz Kerry Says, =93Let Hurricane Victims Go Naked For A While=94 With all the talk of hurricanes and their impact on our industry lately, the following news story 05 bring a little humor—and a kind word—from the woman who could be our nation=92s First Lady.=A0=20<br>It seems that during her visit this week to a location in Brooklyn organizing emergency supplies to Caribbean nations hit by hurricane Ivan, Kerry was dismayed by all the clothing being donated, as opposed to higher priority items like water, food, and portable generators.=A0 While dropping off a supply of first aid kits and water and lending a hand to the cause, she remarked, "Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids, =85water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes."=A0 You can read more on the story here: <a href=http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/9/16/124923.shtml>http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/9/16/124923.shtml</a><br>Just to demonstrate that AANR is non-partisan, I=92d also point out that current First Lady Laura Bush has made some =93pro-nudity=94 comments from time to time.=A0 For example, during one visit to Maine, while issuing remarks about the Preserve America initiative, Ms. Bush talked fondly of the state and the tradition of =93boony wild swimming=94 =96 a/k/a letting your little ones skinny dip in the tidal pools.=A0 You can read her comments on the White House website at: <a href=http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/11/20031110-17.>http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/11/20031110-17.</a> html<br>Desert Shadows Inn to be featured on the Dennis Miller Show this Evening Steve Payne of Desert Shadows let us know that his club is slated to be shown on the Dennis Miller Show.=A0 Show times vary in areas, so check your local listings.=A0 A member of the cast of Saturday Night Live was filmed at the club.
