A preliminary info e-mail will be sent to any club / region who requests it to be sent to them.
New Ruling Documents on Website in the club and members areas – available for download are Procedure Manual and Official AANR Forms, in addition to the existing By-laws.
Did you ever dream that you could be an owner or partner in a nudist club or business? It is not uncommon for a story to run on such a website and then have journalists from other media outlets expand or follow up on the idea in their columns or broadcasts. These websites can spawn additional publicity that might not have originally taken place."
Reminder that Nude Recreation Week will be celebrated July 4 – 10, 2005. As always I will be looking for any activities you plan during that time. A short teaser has been put on AANR's web site. This is not the actual NRW press release, as the full release is still being prepared. As we get closer, the release will be sent to major media outlets in your club area. We will also supply your club with a template release that can be used.
Please order your Nude Recreation Week buttons early. You can call me at the AANR office or email me at www.clubinfo.com
The press release describing AANR's new web redesign and the resources, now available to the press, the public, and AANR members, was released on February 10 to approximately 400 journalists from local, regional and national media outlets. Since this is an evergreen story, we anticipate further use of the press release.
Those of our clubs with regular press contacts 05 want to send them this release or include this information in a release of your own, in order to obtain maximum benefit from the newly redesigned and very professional website. To receive the release, please visit our web site at www.aanr.com press room.
———————————————————— —————————————
From the desk of Patricia Orner, Government Affairs Assistant: Govtaffairs@earthlink.net
Things in MD are moving along as the companion to SB224 received first reading in the house as HB446. Our Lobbyist, Don Murphy, has been working intensely to get both bills amended. You can read the proposed language on the Government Affairs page of the www.aanr.com Web site. To bolster our position in MD we have taken a corporate membership in the Friends of Assateague State Park. You can see more about this group at: http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/assateaguefri endsof.html If you are interested in becoming involved in such activities as the Spring Cleanup Saturday April 23rd PLEASE let me know ASAP.
Texas has been quiet this week.
Saturday March 12th it was my pleasure to have Erich Schuttauf as my guest at a luncheon to meet and hear Senate Majority Leader William H. Frist, M.D. and his wife (Karyn). The Senator was most excited about the passage of SB397 which you can read at http://thomas.loc.gov/. In conversation with his wife we were pleased that she accepted an information package which included brochures and a copy of the 22nd Edition of the North American Guide to Nude Recreation. During the question and answer part of the program AANR submitted an inquiry as to why there has not been more support of HR898 (STOP Stroke Act of 2005) which Senator Frist sponsored. He was very pleased by our question and discussed at length the need for education to decrease the lives lost to strokes.
FANR member and recent graduate of GAT Training, Debra Sue Hedding, joined Erich Schuttauf and Carolyn Hawkins this week in Tallahassee, FL as part of the Kissimmee/Osceola County political delegation. Even as the Terri Schavio issue snatched away much of the planned face time with the Florida lawmakers, our team was able to present AANR as a growing part of the Florida tourism economy, proudly wear the AANR and I VOTE buttons and make contacts for future positioning.
